This is the oldest nature reserve in Belarus. It lies in the Vitebsk region of Belarus and was set up in 1925 to protect rare animal species in the north of the country. Just 120 km from Minsk, it forms part of UNESCO's Biosphere Reserves World Network. Human interference into wildlife is strictly forbidden on the territory of the reserve: they even don't get rid of the fallen trees there. Thus the researchers clear out how long it takes for a tree to reborn. The reserve is made up of forests, bogs, reservoirs, and meadows. More than half of the known species of Belarusian flora can be found here. If you are interested in wildlife and possibly just fresh air, this tour is for you!

First, we'll visit the Wildlife museum where a local guide will tell you about different species of animals that are presented there. After the museum tour, we'll walk along the 4 kilometer-long ecological path where you'll see trees and shrubs growing in natural conditions without human touch and learn many interesting facts about the inhabitants of these unique territories: insects, birds, and animals. We'll climb the 15 meters high watchtower to see the beautiful panorama of bog and know how those cranberries grow in reality :)

Our tour will conclude at the Forest Zoo where Big European Five of large mammals — elk, bison, bear, wolf, and lynx can be seen at a distance of several meters.

If you are interested in longer tour programs about the reserve that offers 2-3-days long bicycle and kayak tours with lodging, please don't hesitate to contact me. I will fill you in with details and can accompany you at an affordable price.
